I'm David, a multidisciplinary creative living in California. I design and build software applications, design systems, style guides, interactive installations, and many other things involving focused creativity.
At my core i'm a creative. By day I build software through experienced design and development methods. By night I paint, hack and build immersive art installations that deliver visual magic. I believe communication is key, teamwork makes the dreamwork, tools should not limit your vision, and consistency rewards those with focus.
My most valuable skill is my ability to listen, learn, and communicate. Through experience I have gained many skillsets but my focus remains in Experience Design. Additional
skills include: Vision & Strategy, Research & Testing, Product Management & Organization, Wireframing, User Experience Design, Prototyping, User Interface Design, Brand Design, Interaction & Motion Design, Illustration, Product Marketing, Code
(html, css, js, swift).
A few clients that I have been lucky enough to work with include: RedBull, Snapchat, Crownpeak, ESPN Sports Science, TED, Sony, X-Bionic, Rip Curl, US Air Force, Georgetown University, ASPPH, The Fairgrounds, DVS, Quicksilver, EG Brand, SOJA Music and more...
I live and love design. I am blessed with the gift of creativity and the confidence to direct and create experiences. Everything I see I consider the thought behind it and if there is room for improvement. I believe deeply in processes and ways design and development can build better software together.
I've made it my life's work to help market and expand businesses through intelligent design and user experiences, whether they're starting from the ground up or taking a new direction. I take the latest in technology and digital resources and deliver a vision for each of my clients' needs. With over 15+ years in the creative industry, and the second half in leadership and execution of digital product design, I am currently focusing my efforts on reconstructing our planets most desired user experiences.
My experience and knowledge have evolved past the traditional software designer role. I believe with modern day software changing at such a rapid pace traditional software designers must be able to wear multiple hats, solve complex problems and continually adapt to the ever changing landscape.
My specialty is providing Vision. My overall knowledge base consists of professional consulting from start to finish for businesses outlined in the points below and much more. Some call me a multi-tool, the industries definition is a unicorn or full-stack creative, but I believe I'm driven by visual excellence and business success.
I was born and raised just south of Washington, D.C. by my talented parents. Since I can remember art and creativity have been a part of my life. My parents set the foundation of who I am with structure, creativity and focus. My mother has always inspired me with her amazing artwork while my father continues to inspire me with his music and books.
My artwork does not fit into a traditional style but represents a modern artists approach to mixing mediums. I like the flexibility of using the best medium to accomplish the task at hand such as painting, craft making, or simply mixing mediums with technology to create immersive installations.
I am best recognized in the art community for works on canvas, large scale murals, graffiti art, neon signage and interactive light installations.
I have shown artwork and created installations for galleries across the U.S in cities such as Washington, D.C., New York, Philadelphia, Ohio, San Francisco and Berlin. I currently reside in and represent a great little neighborhood in Ocean Park, California where I am focusing on combining art with technology to create rich interactive installations focused on 80’s-style experiences.
